Kamiya Hiroshi's voice is such a massive retardant for me when it comes to liking a character he plays. At best I would be neutral to them; at worst I would like to stab their faces repeatedly and wish for their non-existence. I realized this when I noticed that I love Gareki (from Karneval) in the manga but not in the anime.

Oh my god, I can't believe I've met someone who feels the same way. The obnoxious thing is that I like some of these characters, but his voice is just so annoying! Also, it feels like he's in EVERYTHING, and he plays a lot of popular characters.

Ha. I get you. The funny thing is, I hardly notice his voice - the only seiyuu who I actually recognize is Takehito Koyasu (whom I love). Everybody else is super interchangeable for me, for some reason.
I don't mind Kamiya Hiroshi, but I can understand how you'd get tired of him.

Really? I guess I've never watched any of his work. I found an edit on Youtube of a bunch of his roles, and I don't get the problem. He does a sort of half-whisper a lot, is that it?

I think Kamiya Hiroshi's voice is kind of obnoxious, but it works really well for some characters so I like it after all. But I know what you mean, I have the exact same problem you describe with Yuki Kaji ;(

I know what you mean, OP. If I ever even slightly imply that I'm not the biggest fan of his voice in namespace it's all OMG HDU HE IS THE BEST THE MOST AMAZING PRINCE OF VOICE ACTORS NO OTHER VOICE CAN EVEN DREAM OF BEING AS AMAZING AS HIM and I'm just like. I just don't like his voice that much? Sorry?

I don't think he's particularly bad, but I find his voice recognizable in a way that sort of takes me out of believing in his performance, if that makes sense? It's hard to hear the character rather than "oh, that's Kamiya Hiroshi again".

The fact he voices one of the most unlikable bastards I have ever seen (Izaya) makes me automatically hate his voice and find it pretentious. The Levi hype a couple years ago might also have had something to do with it.

Um, so you're saying you don't like Natsuke? You sick bastard (just joking) I think I was turned off his voice after Levi got to be so popular. Before that his voice was neutral at best to me.

I actually like his voice, but I wish he'd stop popping up in so many shows. Sometimes the creators seem to cast him into roles without thinking about whether his voice is appropriate for the character, just because he is such a popular voice actor.
