Let's have another head canon thread

Because I just formed one yesterday for a show that ended 10 years ago, based on an episode that aired 13 years ago.

Everwood

One of the episodes that had potential to lead to a great arc -- and was kind of wasted, I think -- is the one where Bright gets kicked off the football team for skipping out on summer school and failing a class again. Because, during that time, his best friend woke up from a coma, didn't remember much of his old life and was kind of a different person and then died again, Bright gets told that if he'll write a letter talking about the situation with Colin affected him, he can still play football.

Bright refuses, which pisses off his dad because they've always packaged him as a student athlete, and now he's a senior, and how is he going to get scholarships if he can't play? Bright asks why he can't go based on academics, like his sister, and Harold, the Mensa member doctor, yells out "BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT SMART ENOUGH!"

Now, I've always had a head canon that Bright carried an unrequited torch for Colin, which was why he wouldn't use him that way, but it was just recently that I remembered learning at some other point that Bright had had to repeat the third grade. So new headcanon established: In Grade 3 2.0, before he became a star athlete, Bright was always picked on by his new classmates for not being smart enough to move on to the fourth grade, but Colin stood up for him and became his friend.

And now I want it to be real.

Oh I love Everwood and I have way too many headcanons about that show.

I can totally see this too. There were a lot of resolved issues with Colin and Bright.
