Just a little nudge from someone who is on disability (of course, things may be different where you are), if you ever do go for it, there are a few pitfalls:

You can never save money (you can only have so much in resources. I'm talking 2-3K USD maximum).

You can never take out a loan.

Any emergency you have will have to be paid by credit card, and your income is so low, it will take a long time to pay off.

Your housing options are limited (again, the stipend is far below poverty level in most cases).

You may have to beg people/use charities for necessities if something goes haywire (hooray begging strangers/recycling cans for toilet paper).

So it's not all peaches and cream, even if you can win disability.

I don't think the credit card thing is true here...not sure about loans.

However it's a moot point, because if I can't hold a job, I can't take out a loan, either. My housing options are limited to living with my parents right now. I already use freecycle groups for some stuff.

I know it's not peaches and cream - i'm screwed either way tbh, I'm just not actually going to keep what remains of my sanity for very long like this.

I'm on disability too and I'm AMAZED that you left out how tiny an amount of money you get. And that it will get cut in half once you reach a certain age (60-ish depending on where you live.)
