I agree! I doubt that the poster has ever even heard of V For Vendetta, and clearly doesn't know that it was a comic before it was a movie. Not that the comic has anything to do with the movie for the most part. Completly different. But it doesn't change the fact that the movie has nothing to do with 1984. And yes, I have seen/read all of the above.

Ditto. Assuming that every dystopian setting is ripping off 1984 is silly, especially when 1984 wasn't even the first dystopian novel to be written. Besides, Animal Farm was better. *shot*

And the ending of the V for Vendetta movie was so different from the ending of 1984 - that alone has the two deliver very different messages. I haven't finished reading the V for Vendetta comic yet, but yeah, woah different.
