No, men don't suffer from the term, so it stays.

Also, I mean, who get's to decide if a term is offensive? It's supposed to be the people the term is used against, right?

Then real and vital criticism can be brushed of and shut down, because no-one wants to be told they need to shut the fuck up, and any wording we use to get men to shut the fuck up will be offensive to them. That doesn't mean that men need to, you know, shut the fuck up.

Personally, almost any time you're telling someone to shut the fuck up, you need to sit down and learn to use your words in constructive ways.

I agree with that. /Almost/ is important there. If you're talking to straight white males and you're not a straight white male, no, you're fine and they need to shut the fuck up and listen.

Not anon. I would like to be very clear about that. I'm not the anon you replied to.

But that means I can't win arguments with my brother about what we're doing for dinner. I'm a straight white woman, but he's a straight white man, so I can just tell him to shut the fuck up and listen because we're having orange chicken, asshole.
