I dislike people who try to get me to do something after I've already declined or said no. Even trivial stuff, like "Come here and try this salad! Come on, you'll love it! Just one bite! Come ooooooooon..." I go from zero to die-in-a-fire in a microsecond.

I don't mind it if they try a few times but if they continue after I've made it clear that my "no" is very serious then I agree

I'm okay with asking me ONCE after I decline, because sometimes people need to be sure I'm not just being polite. But after that, I'd like people to leave me alone. I mean it when I say no, I'm not hungry, or no, I don't feel like playing this game right now but you go ahead, etc. It bugs me that people always think they're being playful or nice by pressuring me to do something they believe is fun, but I hate it. Absolutely hate it.

My dad does this. He pressures me until I give in out of annoyance. It drives me crazy.

The giving in part is what gets you. If he pesters you 1000 times and you give in on the 1001th try, all that teaches him is that he needs to pester you 1001 times to get what he wants.

This. It totally sucks that your dad's like that, philstar22. But that's why people draw firm boundaries. It might seem like it's too much trouble, but by giving in again and again, the pattern of your dad pestering you until you agree to things because more deeply entrenched. The longer this goes on, the harder it will be to get him to stop. He'll never stop on his own.

I went on a date recently, on a weekday. I had one beer and the guy had 4 or 5. And he would not stop bugging me to have another drink. It was so annoying and I wanted to punch him.

That's very irritating. I'd either suspect the guy of wanting to get you drunk, or being one of those insecure drinkers who wants everyone to drink so they don't feel bad about drinking so much.

He didn't really give me any creepy vibes, so I suspect the latter. He a tool in more ways than one though.

I hate this so much and it's a guarantee that I'll loose my temper at said person. If I've said no deal with it and stop bugging me.
