For example, it really annoys me when people say "car oakey" for "karaoke".

Huh. I've never heard it pronounced like that. Though incorrect, people here just say carrie-okee.

I used to usually hear it "carrie-oakey" as you said, but "car-oakey" seems to have vastly spread. Though it sounds even worse than what I spelled - almost like "kurr-oakey". It seriously annoys me.
