Re: fresh fandoms
I love Star Wars, but yeah, the fans are crazy.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 12:24 am (UTC)(link)On the other hand, I hear how awesome the Thrawn Trilogy is and about all these interesting things that happened in the Legends books and I'm curious. I also have situations where I'm developing a story for a SW fic and I need some kind of bad guy or race and there's a handy one that's already been made but I'd feel weird to use them without reading the context. I don't find Wookipedia has enough information for me. I'm also not too sure that I want to fall in love with new characters who aren't going to be in any of the new movies. But I hear people talking about them and it sounds really interesting.
I'm really torn!
Re: fresh fandoms
Honestly, the books that have come out so far ANSWER NOTHING! Bloodline by Claudia Gray is a very well-written book but it screws with my headcanon because in the book Ben is 23, still going by Ben and doesn't know Darth Vader is his grandfather, Han and Leia are still together, and Luke's with Ben.
So I don't know what to tell you other than I love the old books. Zahn is such an amazing author when it comes to capturing the characters and worlds.
