I think part of it was rebound -- I think a lot of Steve/Bucky fans went into the film ready to be all go-team-go and weren't expecting any moral ambiguity at all. It made them doubly vicious out of sympathetic guilt for their faves, who fucked up.

I think Tony fans were more used to Tony being morally ambiguous but having good intentions.

So, yeah, the hate seems really, really strong.
