"Mansplaining" is used to describe a specific action...and a cultural phenomenon. It's not a slur, it's not degrading to an entire demographic, hell it's not even degrading to the person it's used against, it's a descriptor of their actions. It's literally shorthand for "being condescending towards a woman because she is female in an area you don't actually know more than her about" and a hell of a lot easier to say. How can that be construed to be an offensive term? If you're offended by it, that means you either do it (and should stop), or you are unable to separate the action from the gender, which is a problem because it makes me think that kind of behavior is inherent in men and they have a right to do it.
