It sounds like you must be around a bunch of hardcore Stucky fans. I'm in a tough position that I like both Cap and Tony as characters. I actually feel like the general audience is more sympathetic towards both of them (excluding hardcore fanboys) since I keep hearing about people going in with a solid team but come out feeling torn. The movie did a good job of not portraying one more sympathetic than the other, in my opinion.

As for Spiderman, is that really an issue for people? Isn't there going to be new Spiderman movies? He's always been a teen hero and this was a good opportunity to introduce him into the MCU movies. Spiderman was probably one of the strongest guys there. It also felt they were setting Tony up as his mentor figure since he's also into building tech. Though if you are going by that vein of thought then isn't Steve "SHE'S JUST A KID" Rogers bringing Wanda along equally as bad?

Steve was always fine with Wanda being part of the team and figtting under his leadership though? He just objected to the Weapon of Mass Destruction treatment. I don't entirely agree with him on that, btw, just pointing out that it's not the same. Tony's motivation for signing the accords was the death of a kid in one of his fights. Bringing another into his war in the same movie does seem odd.

I feel for you, nonnie. I like both characters too - although they can both be hellishly annoying in their own unique way, of course.

It's striking how CA:CW has kicked off various sorts of civil wars in the fandom. I got accused of sucking Iron Man's dick up-thread because I could kinda sorta see his POV in one scene. Apparently that constitutes being a Tony stan :-(

The introduction of youthful!Spider-Man to the movie struck me as contrived (his involvement was too obviously intended to be a parallel to Miriam's dead son), but to view it in-universe, I think it was possibly intended as Stark seeing the boy as a young version of himself - with all the zeal and excitement he himself had had before the karmic consequences started rolling in.

(Also I hadn't fully recognized how young Wanda is [supposed to be] until CA:CW. Damn, she IS just a kid.)
