Except in the MCU, the Avengers hadn't charged into any country to spread "democracy or peace". They absolutely charged in, yeah, but it was to stop aliens and killer robots and escaped HYDRA agents with devastating bioweapons. Cleaning up a mess caused by Tony and/or the US government in under a day with a small team is hardly an invasion.
