I think it's a rather good troll because I've seen people seriously say shit like that.

The reason it's not a good troll is because we're deep enough in the Commentary Cycle that not only is a comment like that no longer novel, but its ridiculous wrongness is broadly recognized. It's not a good troll because anyone paying attention knows enough to just lol at it.
