I always thought the best way to experience Jojo is reading the manga anyways. But hey, if it's not for you then that's perfectly fine and you shouldn't be dissed for it.

If they don't like drawn out fights then that's a bad idea, especially with Vento Aureo. Fuckin' Prosciutto and Pesci fight taking like 150 pages with many points at which Araki could have ended things more naturally... or the Ghiaccio fight. That couldn't hold my attention for even 5 minutes. I know they are going to defeat him and get to the monument. His power and personality is boring. Get on with it arghhhh

I only found the Battle Tendency anime to have overly long fights (yeah, they are outsmarting each other in relatively clever ways, but they have to do it over and over for 4 episodes in a row until a pillar man finally dies??!?!) and MANY parts of the manga (all except PB, SC, DiU and SBR) to have them as well. It's probably the only thing I dislike about JoJo, having to periodically skip ahead 5 pages at a time when I could tell the enemy was just some guy and not plot-important.

It's not DBZ level bad but it sure can be annoying.
