Re: Things lots of people are scared of that don't scare you at all

The rattle is actually an attempt to scare away larger predators ...truly the snake is more afraid of you than you are of it. :)

That seems to be the case with most species in general, from what I've heard. Basically, so long as you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone.

Until you go to Australia.

Shit's aggressive in Australia.

LOL, so I've heard! I want to go visit that country so badly someday, but yeah, I've heard about the weird stuff they've got out there.

And I've heard about their spiders. That alone gives me serious pause :p.

Really just don't go poking around in piles of leaves and stuff in Australia.

That was the takeaway when I went to the museum in Sydney and saw the list of stuff that can kill you.

I'll keep that in mind, then, if I ever go there :D.

I think that's a good piece of advice in general-if it's not some weird species of wildlife coming at you, it's the risk of poison ivy or tics or whatever. Best to just admire the pretty foliage from afar and move on.

POSSIBLY IT WOULD BE SIMPLER IF I ASKED FOR A LIST OF THE HARMLESS CREATURES OF THE AFORESAID CONTINENT?

They waited.

IT WOULD APPEAR THAT-

"No, wait master. Here it comes."

Albert pointed to something white zigzagging lazily through the air. Finally Death reached up an caught the single sheet of paper.

He read it carefully and then turned it over briefly just in case anything was written on the other side.

"May I?" said Albert. Death handed him the paper.

"'Some of the sheep, '" Albert read aloud.

Hahaha yes. Yes, classic Pratchett.

That man had a way of explaining things better than anyone who ever lived.
