I made this thread solely because I'd like some recs from kaijinscendre. I am a junkie for your recs!

So they exchange numbers, and then Steve says he should go, and Bucky agrees, and they kind of stare at each other for a bit more, then Steve actually does go, but not before taking Bucky’s hand and squeezing it warmly in a way that makes Bucky want to shiver all over. Then Steve is gone, and Bucky is standing alone in the alley, grinning to himself.

Right up until the moment he remembers that Steve thinks Bucky is an escort he’s just hired.

Er this is a weird question but I realized I had a similar thought to you so I'm making a comment instead.

Where do you fics you are interested in? I come from LJ days and after that, I lost interest in it. Now I'm curious but don't know of a site to go to. Or is it just not one site but depending on what you are seeking, one site is better for that fandom than others? (I feel old)

I use AO3 almost exclusively.

Ao3. Fanfiction.net if I run out on AO3.

AO3. AO3 is where everything is at (and it's tagging system is slowly improving and getting better to filter).

Tumblr is good too if you're going through individual users' blogs, but don't try the tracked tags.

Ao3, ff.net if it's an older fandom or have run out on Ao3 and if I'm really desperate I'll try to see if any Lj comms are still active.

AO3 is the main go to, it has a lot of filtering options. Especially nice if you like looking for certain tropes - so you can filter for "pretend married" or whatever and hit that sweet spot.

For older fic, older fandoms, and for filtering when you want fic centered on a certain character : fanfiction dot net.

AO3, unless it's an older fandom or super small, then fanfiction.net

Ao3 for variety/tagging requests (and occaisionally particular pairings)

fanfiction . net for a wider net (that said, a wide net = a lot of crap you must wade through to find gold)

LJ for particular/niche pairings. Such good fic. And for active contests (depends on fandom).

I would like anything pre-cryo or alternate ending that is basically smut or h/c with him still being one-armed. Because reasons. I tend to ship Bucky with Steve or Nat, but I'm open to things.

I'm looking for a fic that I read a while ago (possibly on LJ?). IT was a Life On Mars/DW crossover. Feat Martha, with an oblivious and moody Ten, and Sam Tyler.

Martha ends up stuck in Sam Tyler's time, or was it the other way? I don't exactly recall, but Martha and Sam have a lovely relationship & then she's called away to the Doctor, who is indifferent to her feelings (and Sam's--who ends up in a coma?)

IT was so good. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? If so, please post the link. I'm going crazy trying to find it. :/ IT was so bittersweet, good Lord, it was good.

I read a great apocalypse Scooby Doo fic a few years ago, and recently a Mallory Towers Battle Royale fic, so anything in that kind of vein. I'm all about deconstructing childhood shows into darker things (or just great characters-aged-up fics, though I'm not bothered about shipping either way).
