I had heard Good Omens was good but I only finally got around to reading it because I was told the fandom was 90% well-written slash and I wanted to understand what I was reading.

Haha, yeah, I read Good Omens because I found good fanfic.

I uh. Yeah, that book was COMPLETELY different than fandom had led me to believe. Ditto 'Monstrous Regiment.' (Though I DID enjoy that one.)

I have Monstrous Regiment but I haven't read it yet because I like to multi-task and read multiple things at once, and without chapter breaks it's harder to do that.

Yeah. I liked it okay, which is good, since I REALLY can't get into Pratchett for some reason.
