tbh, Wall-e's spaceship never seemed like a utopia to me? But I could see why it's described as such. :O

I think the thing with Utopias is a lot of it seems like dystopia in disguise? Just depending on your POV. Like as much as I agree dinotopia is a sort of utopia there a bits that unsettled me and made me think it's not all it looks.

If that makes sense. I'm starving so jumbled mind

Eh, yes and no? There are utopias, dystopias, and anti-utopias. I think it tends to be the anti-utopias that are dystopias in disguise, since the idea is that utopias are inherently unstable/impossible.

That being said, I sort of agree, sort of disagree? I think that it is definitely meant as a Utopia, or at least, the main culture is utopic. It's when people outside of the culture (the meat eating dinosaurs, that one Random Bad Guy who keeps popping up, etc.) show up that start to mess with things.

That's just my interpretation tho.

But with the meat eating dinosaurs being excluded (exiled??) it always felt a bit unfair because they're, well, it's their evolutionary diet. I wouldn't think they could all move to fish since it wouldn't necessarily agree with them all. That always felt off versus random human bad guy.

Maybe I missed a hand wave justification on that though.

Well, the tyrannosaurus rex's in the Rainy Basin can be bribed with fish/eels, so it's more then likely that they can eat that. Plus, it's not like the meat eaters are hunted/killed, they just aren't allowed to be around sentient/sapient dinosaurs that they might eat. :O
