Is macaroni salad interchangeable with pasta salad, or are macaroni salads not macaroni salads without mayo dressing (which I agree is disgusting)? I make pasta salad with diced multicolored bell peppers, celery, red onion, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, and tamari-roasted tempeh, with a basil and parsley pesto sauce; it's my go-to potluck dish and I remember once someone thought I'd brought moldy pasta because it was green.
