Yeah I know. and I've been cooperative all year about paying what I need to and they were praising me only monthes earlier for how I've handled my money all year. But one mistake and boom- back to "can't be trusted".

(yes. and it was greeeeat. I had the best time. Met up with a friend I haven't gotten to see in ages, shopped saw a bunch of cool stuff, and bought some neato stuff. Some clothes stuffs, a nice dress, a cute hat, some useful books and a cute Bi Pride scarf, to name a few things)

Man it is just so invasive to even act like your own money is something your parents are supposed to trust you with

Yeah it's pretty par for the course with my parents. They're seemingly always looking for 'tests' for me to be 'ready' to live on my own. My mom kept telling me the other night when i was saying i wanted to leave, how she wants me to be able to, but she needs to make sure I'm ready.

Honestly at this point. When we make our move, I'm just going to try and get a job, maybe conserve a stockpile of my thyroid meds and money until I can get out and make a break for it. That's my new goal for this year and next year.

And thanks! It brightened my month up with all the stress going on with moving and Kaiti's (my sister) wedding. Just nice to get away and have a fun time.

I would suggest that if you can, open up a bank account your parents don't have any access to. I'm not saying your parents would definitely steal or lock your account, but from what you've described, it might be better if you removed that temptation.

Yeah that's something I'll try when I get my next paying job. An account for my living expenses, rent. and one for MY money

Keep us posted on how the moving out thing goes! And at the end of the day, it's you who decides if you're ready, not your mom. She is going to have to come to terms with that.
