That's because the end result of One More Day--the reason it was done--was to end Spidey's marriage to MJ without overtly throwing one under the bus. And there are plenty of writers who hated the storyline to bits and pieces...buuuuuuuut also prefer to write Peter young and unattached instead of a wedded man of an indeterminate amount of years.

Not saying I'm agree, just explaining the situation.
