How long is it? What sort of paper is it?

3-5 pages, eating out vs cooking at home.

Nayrt

That's nothing! Really. I wrote a paper longer thn that in around 10-12 hours, and I'm not a particularly fast typer. If you have several days you'll get through it just fine. It also seems to be a fairly easy topic to bullshit.

Good to know. I'm just staring at it and it looks so daunting. I have to have a summary and references and crap, and I don't even know what my thesis is. That's probably important.

You can probably find studies about the average health and weight of people who eat out more vs. eat at home more. Maybe the effect of regular family meals on kids. Also, though, consider the social aspect of eating out (if one does it with other people) and the positive role it could play.

Brainstoorm some of your own opinions and deas about the topic.

I can't think of any actual sources for you, but if you have access to something where you can look up what sources have cited another source (in school I used this thing called Web of Knowledge or Web of Science that I had to sign in to through my school) you could start by checking who has cited something like Eric Schlosser's Fast Food Nation. Mine the bibliographies of the sources you find to find more sources. Look for some recent stuff and check their references to look for commonalities that might indicate more important works that you ought to look at. Also, Google stuff. Try Google Scholar. Try Wikipedia and check out the references at the bottom of the pages.

Don't get bogged down trying to read through every source in detail. You don't have time to completely read whole books or long articles. Check intros and conclusions and skim through choice parts to get the specific details you need, but only if you need them. Be targeted with your research.
