Happens all the time in divorce proceedings.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-05 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Bullshit.

Most women live with abuse. People who've lived with abuse do NOT lie about it.

"Most women live with abuse"
No, and fuck you very much for trivialising domestic abuse like this.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-06 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Woman is the n*gger of the world.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-05 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
But people who don't do.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-05 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe. Yeah, I can see that someone how doesn't know how bad domestic abuse is would think it would be ok to lie about it, but playing the numbers, most women do or have lived with abuse, so the odds really are against women lying about it.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-05 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, do tell which magical numbers prove that most women live with domestic abuse.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-05 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Try talking to women?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-05 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't bother. AYRT probably doesn't even know what is and isn't abuse.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-05 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you saying that people who think they haven't been abused probably have been?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-05 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
NAYRT

I don't know specific numbers; I don't know that it's possible to pin that down, even, given the nature of the subject (how would you collect that data, how do you define domestic abuse, etc. etc. etc.). But it's pretty much an accepted fact that domestic violence is significantly widespread and if you're trying to quibble with that bc you don't hear a numeric figure then you're the asshole, sorry

(Anonymous) 2016-06-05 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
But if we don't know how to define domestic abuse, how do we know it's widespread enough that everyone experiences it?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-06 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
"significantly widespread" and "overwhelming majority of women" are two EXTREMEMLY different things.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-06 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
True, but the other anon literally never used the phrase "overwhelming majority of women," so I don't know you're bringing this up ?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-06 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
NA

That's what "most" means, though.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-06 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Wow you're some shit. Domestic abuse isn't an excuse to be an asshole, and it's not an excuse to fake claims. And yes I do "talk to women"--more of them are emotionally abused by their parents than anything else, and the same goes when I talk to men. Maybe, just maybe, abuse doesn't have a gender to it! Shocker!

(Anonymous) 2016-06-06 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
abuse victims can absolutely lie about other abuse

(Anonymous) 2016-06-06 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
They can, but generally wont. Any woman who knows how abuse feels would be very unlikely to claim it happened when it didn't.

Also any woman who knows how hard it is to have real abuse taken seriously by anyone would probably not find lying about abuse to be worth it. Amber Heard had actual bruises, and people call her a liar. Someone with no proof wouldn't have a chance, and women who've already suffered this would know this.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-07 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Bruises that didn't show up until much later than it would normally take.

And I'm not sure where you get your information but just because someone has been abused doesn't discount them from lying. If anything they would know what to do to stage it.
