Yeah, but in the IDW comics, they were specifically not related in any of the printed material; in Spotlight: Sideswipe, Sideswipe's internal narrative refers to his relationship with Sunstreaker as being perceived as "loyalty, a brothers-in-arms thing" before describing it as "...P-3 officer, my strike partner on Cybertron. But to him, I was always the rookie, the boot." The implication directly opposes the idea that they're related.
