Misogyny is insisting on suspending "innocent until proven guilty" when it's a woman behind it because it acts as though a woman could never ever lie despite them being human and thus flawed.

As a feminist, you disgust me.

As a feminist

lolololololololol

What, exactly, do you find funny? I believe in equality under the law and that means innocent until proven guilty as well as finding all the facts and judging accordingly.

But it's ok to assume Depp is guilty until proven innocent (and perhaps not even then)?

That's the attitude they're criticizing.

How does apply 'innocent until proven guilty' to men accused of abuse, but never to women doing the accusing. They are never 'innocent until proving guilty', they are 'liars and scammers until proven correct'.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-06 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
EXACTLY.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-07 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Not in all cases. If anything it's the exact opposite in most cases (remember Mattress Girl, who was PROVEN to be a lying liar who lies and yet still managed to get everyone on her side?).

Look, I don't actually know much about this case, but a quick google search just gave me people on both sides of the issue, so 'proven' might be a strong word on your part.

Also, I never even said that there are never people being falsly accused. I pointed out, that if a woman accuses someone, people resort to calling her a liar very quickly, while claiming in the same breath that baseless accusations are harmful. Pot, Kettle, etc.

And if you honestly believe that most rape accusations are lies, than I suggest you look at some statisitics. Preferably not ancient ones.
