Oooo that is nice! What all do you have in there?

Too much to list, honestly. A bunch of things that the previous owners (before the last jerk) had put in, including some roses that the local deer just keep getting at.

I just uncovered a garden bed that I didn't even know existed (it was so overgrown with weeds that I didn't realize it was there) and into that I put some daisies, columbine, and chocolate mint. Hopefully I can be done digging out all the weeds by the end of next week... all my curses to the guy who let it all go to hell before we got here.

That's fantastic! Digging out weeds is nothing but a pain but it's so satisfying when you're done.

I don't know about chocolate mint - what's distinguishes it from other kinds of mint?

The flavour is very mild, but not as soft as ...say... a wintergreen mint, and none of the sour aftertaste one usually associates with a softer mint. True to it's name, it does bear the faint aroma of chocolate, especially when crushed.

It also has very smooth, non-fuzzy leaves which have a pleasant texture to chew. I have found it to be the absolute best mint for making sun tea, as it brews in a few hours if left in a jar of water (even in the fridge).

It's really one of my favorite types of mint. As a bonus, it's very attractive and wards off aphids.
