I like both. My OTP is an example of someone who was originally a good guy being seduced and becoming a villain (Morgoth/Sauron). Of course, it isn't romantic/sexual in canon, but it is a completely reasonable interpretation.

Yup. There are lots of different ways people write it. But it is canon that Mairon was a good guy who then got swayed and joined Melkor and became villain number 2 of Middle Earth. People just go from there and interpret different ways it could have happened and what their resulting relationship was like.
