I was a pretty die-hard House/Wilson shipper, and still kinda am. I go back and read the classics every now and then. I actually sort of liked the end of the series because they rode off into the sunset together, and in my mind they live happily ever after and Wilson never dies of cancer (like in that one fic where he gets scarlet fever and it cures him, it was so great).

This! They lived happily together!!

I wrote fics where exactly that happened. They even wound up getting married once it was legal.
