The second is a lot more comic faithful. The first, well it caught up to the manga and kept going very early on, which means the plot suddenly 90 degrees compared to the manga all of the sudden, as they either didn't want to spoil or didn't ask. I think it's a weaker work. I'd just go to Brotherhood personally. It's got a much better villian.
