You think you're worse than everyone else because at some point during your existence, life beat the hell out of you, whether in the form of shitty people or a series of shitty situations. Maybe you didn't have anyone to assure you that you can bounce back from such things. Maybe they tried but the bad parts were just too much.

I can't tell you how to stop having bad self-esteem, but it helps to train yourself to stop holding yourself to other people's standards. Give yourself permission to not be perfect. Learn to accept yourself as you are. Of course, I'm not suggesting to just give up and fart and flip the bird at anyone who has any kind of opinion about you. Allow yourself to fail from time to time, and learn from those failures. Use them as lessons for what to do and what not to do in order to get better. Surround yourself with genuinely kind, supportive people. It is important to believe in yourself, but it's even better when people are cheering you on.

So... yeah, that was kind of vague and I'm not sure any of that helped, but you just kind of have to do stuff, even if you have fears and reservations (does not apply to gut-feelings of danger, obviously). You have to start giving less of a shit about what everyone thinks of you if you want to get anything done.
