I didn't say I'd be shamed by the sign. Actually I'd be able to ignore it. I look like a teen myself, so no delicate teens would be any the wiser to be uncomfortable with me existing in their space.

And besides, if the sign was there because they're worried about predators, why is the solution to the rule having a teen accompany the adult? That sounds like it would invite predators. "Hey, I'm an adult who totally LOOOOVES YA, for reals, but I can't get into this section by myself. Would one of you teens like to volunteer to stay super close to me the whole time while I browse? I'll make it up to you, I promise~"
