I mean heck that's half the songs in Frozen:
-Love is an open door (the freaking villain song, where a man tries to manipulate an inexperienced, and lonely teen into falling for him cause he wants to be king of her country)
-Let it Go (a woman coming to the oh so empowering position that a life of hermitude will solve all of her problems)
Actually villain songs in general... Plus there are some good musicals about depression and mental issues (Next to Normal is one that speaks to me).
So yeah it's clear that what Pearl is doing is wrong and that she's in a bad place, but she learns that to some extent by the end of the episode.
