Good God, agreed. Cardcaptor Sakura was my first manga, is one of the only anime I can watch, and is still one of my favorites. I'm torn between being super happy to see more and super terrified to see more.

They won't ruin the happy ending, don't worry. CLAMP can do gruesome and sad and heartbreaking, but their happy manga stay happy, positive, cute and adorable.

Aaaaaaand this is the only reason I don't want them to finish X. A few years ago they did a commemorative cover (I can't find it again, I thought it was for the anniversary of one of the manga serials) in the new style and somehow had to point out that it was supposed to be Kamui because it did not compute in the new art style.

I'm trying to find it again and the only thing that remotely jogs my memory is this pic but I think that's Tsubasa? Maybe this showed up on a cover somewhere introducing them into Tsubasa?

CCS is one of the manga that Clamp handled... better than others, and upon revisiting the anime a year ago, I realised that it is a honest-to-god great show. Given their less-than-stellar record at doing what they're doing, I can't say I'm at all happy about Clamo going back to mess with CCS. Particularly, I'm sad to say, because the original anime fixes a lot of the bullshit that the manga got wrong.

If they put Meilin in there, though...

I like Cardcaptor Sakura and I'm happy to hear about the new anime and manga, but damn, I really wish they'd finish their projects. I really want more of Legal Drug and Clover.

Okay, so I can see where some people are coming from in wondering if the new manga/anime will somehow tie in with TRC/Holic.

But from what I read (and I have read the first chapter of the new manga) it picks up right where the previous series left off. So Syaoran, Sakura, Tomoyo etc are just starting in high school. And it is more around a new foe and something happening with her Sakura Cards. I know this was only the start of it, but I really think they are going to try stick to the tone and continuing story of the original series. It would have to continue for a long time/timeskip again to probably get to any point close to the events of Holic/Tsubasa since that is set after Sakura moves out to live with Syaoran, unless there's weird time travel shenanigans involved.

I'm willing to give it a chance, because CCS is one of my favourite manga/anime series even years after I initially saw and read it.

Isn't it high school CCS!Sakura we see in TRC, giving her wand to TRC!Sakura? I wouldn't be surprised if they work that moment in somehow near the end.

Ah, that is true! She is in uniform during that particular scene isn't she? It's just been years since I went back to reread past Piffle world with TRC so I admit to being a little rusty with it. I guess I kind of saw that as something akin to a dream/mirage for each of them or sorts.

The first chapter gives me hope because it has the feel of the original CCS and I'm hoping for no crossovers. That being said I'd rather they finish X/1999 or Legal Drug or any other unfinished series before adding to already finished series.
