Unlike all those AUs I don't think I have ever come across an a/b/o fic that wasn't tagged or obviously labeled, and it's really the easiest thing to filter out of all the prevalent fandom things I don't like.

Yup. The only time I've been surprised by it is if I didn't read the tags. I mean, I'm sure there's one or two people who don't tag properly, but they don't affect the grand scheme of things.
