Accomplishment thread.

Next stop on the positivity train, Awesomeville! Big or small, post your achievements here, and tell us why they made you feel awesome.

Mine: I finally finished my yard after two and a half months of solid work. There were so many weeds to dig out you guys. There was so much overgrown crap. The plants were in terrible shape. But I did it! And now it looks tidy and everything is growing happily again without being choked to death by weeds!

Yay happy plants!

YAY! That's super exciting. I love plants and my dad finally put some up on our front porch.

Any particular favorite plants in your yard? I'm partial to the azaleas we have and the magnolia tree.

The biggest thing in my life is that I finally closed my new place and so I'm slowly packing and moving out. I have accumulated a lot of stuff over the years and now it's time to slowly weed out everything.

I love my giant blood red rhododendron out in the front yard. It didn't bloom at all last year, but this year it practically exploded with blossoms because it was so happy to be free of the invasive plants that were literally wrapping themselves around its roots.

I am also partial to the little shrub I bought to go in place of one of the fennel plants. It has white flowers with a pink blush that are similar to hibiscus, but it's much more hardy and smaller.

Ahhh moving. It does sort of feel like a bit of soul-cleansing to be able to get rid of things you don't need though, so that's always nice. :)

The rhododendron sounds amazing and so pretty!

The moving part is slightly overwhelming right now because I've never fully moved and now to sort through everything, luckily I'm doing it in baby steps. I have no timeline to move in fully to the new place and I have no rush to move out of the old place. (Plus they're only a mile apart, so it's super easy to do it in tiny bits)

I have moved... more times than I like to think about. Plus I'm about to do it again.

Just make sure to MARK EVERYTHING. Or you will lose it. Also always wrap your plates and breakables in newspaper because I guarantee you the one time you think it'll be fine and you don't need it, something will get broken.

I rode my bike to the grocery store and got healthy food instead of junk. I e-mailed someone about a job and got a lead. I watched something semi-educational instead of goofing around the internet all day. I got dressed.

Not bad.

Awww yeah, that health food feel. I ate a giant salad last night and I'm still kind of proud of myself lol.

Today I got a letter saying I made the dean's list at school for the second semester in a row. I was surprised since my chronic pain and fatigue were especially annoying this semester and caused problems. Plus I never look at my grades so I had no idea what my GPA was.

I also managed to bring two of my closest friends together. I invited my best friend to a thing that a friend I've known since I was seven was hosting and they enjoyed each others company enough that we're all hanging out again tomorrow night.

Heck yeah! Congrats! Man... I obsessed over my grades in Uni and I was so sure I was the absolute worst out of all of my peers. Then I graduated with distinction and I was like wut.

Sometimes you're just your own worst critic lol.

It's always such an awesome feeling when you there's mutual friendship between two of your close friends. It's just affirming, like, "Aww yeah I have good taste in people."

I had an achingly full bladder for four hours and didn't piss my pants.

I am having such a total non-accomplishment week but I did turn in the midterm from hell on time.

Hey man, turning in a midterm on time is way the hell better than a lot of people manage. You deserve a pat on the back. :)

I called my bank and got approved for a consolidation loan! It'll wipe out all the debt I have and the payments on the loan are 100 bucks less than what I was paying for all the debts separately! I'm so happy! Everything is getting paid off next Friday!

Also I got up at 6:30 in the morning and went grocery shopping and felt super accomplished for that too.

Heck yeah, anon! Go you for being responsible about your finances! In no time at all you'll be totally debt-free. :)

I got six pages done on my law review case note!! It's due in another two weeks, and I have to write it around work, but this means I'm 1/4th done. And I'm hoping that the actual analysis will be easier - today I did the background information and it was a lot of tracking down sources which always takes longer than I think.

That's great! Getting an early start on things is always nice when it comes down to the deadline and you're not tearing your hair out from stress.

Way to go!

I actually wrote some fic instead of just plotting stuff out in my head like I usually do. Or keeping certain ideas with the intent to turn them into original fiction some day. Nope, I just went and wrote this one because it wouldn't make sense in any other context but its original one.

I finished working on a novel chapter last night too! High five!

Actually getting something written is so rewarding.

My daughter and i got her room sorted and organized and cleaned and we moved out her old bed and put together her new bed frame and got the anti-allergy/dust-mite cover on the new mattress and now she's all happy on her new bed and we didn't kill each other.

Yay! :)
