Sure, but there are many reasons for addressing the topic anyway.

1) So you aren't accused of ignoring an important issue or a question from a reader

2) To explain the various reasons why a minority actress might not be given the part for OTHER people who are reading along in what is presumably a public forum and who do not know the answer.

3) And related to #2, because it's a common question and you might as well try to answer it once so maybe people quit flooding your inbox with the same question hundreds of times.
