I think my mother used to polinate cucumbers or zuccini with a little paint brush. I've never heard of needing vibration (what would that be in nature? I'd think an electric toothbrush would make a very different vibration than a bee).

NAYRT: Tomatoes have this neat little method of distributing pollen, they basically squirt it out all over the bee when the little nub in the middle is vibrate at high frequencies. It doesn't have to be an exact match to the frequency of a bee, any large bee; honey or bumble, buzzing but it does have to be vigorous and real fast. An electric toothbrush is great for the job because the bristles of the brush stimulate the flower the exact same way as the hairs on both bumblebees and honeybees abdomen do.
