Re: Question From Non-British Person

The EU isn't all sweetness and roses, though it's flaws are all mirrored by our government anyway.

What's brought us to this Brexit madness is:

- the recession has really pinched our resources, especally the NHS. The growth in population has only made this worse and a large number of people are from the EU
- health tourism (people coming over specifically to use the NHS - although this is a bigger problem with people from the middle east than Europe)
- headlines about Human Rights (a law that originated with the EU) making it impossible for us to deport criminals

Things really are quite bad here. Our young people are facing a pretty bleak future. People have resorted to the time-old (and yet completely irrational) position of 'migrants cause all of our problems!'.

And that the fucking Tories have spent the last 40 years using the Murdoch press to blow a dog whistle over the EU to get into office. Only this time the pack has finally turned up, and it is rabid. The EU actually has an alphabetised list of bullshit myths about the EU the UK (mainly Murdoch) press has published.
