People made pretty fucking similar claims about the Italians and the Irish and the Jews, at least. And it turned out to be bullshit, because religious people are not unthinking automatons. People find ways to square their religion with cultural mores and moral principles, because people are good at that shit. They'll find ways just as a huge number of Muslims already have found ways. And there's a high incentive for them to find ways, because we are right.
