I dunno. I just want a classic story of love battle and betrayal featuring the Valkyries, The Norse gods, water spirits, and some classic hero archetype. Nicked gold rings and magic helmets are a nice bonus.

Now, I'll say first of all that I never watched this but there is apparently a miniseries with the Niebelungenlied as the topic:

Any books I read on the topic (as well as a kinda strange comic book) is in German, unfortunately, and I'm not sure about translations. You might find some adaptions if you google/search on Wikipedia for Niebelungenlied and Nibelung.

above german speaking anon here and, cool! I didn't know that. I loved Benno Führmann in Anatomie. Definitely gonna check it out.
