Eh. I love Clint's characterization in every MCU movie other than Avengers (which was mostly possessed Clint). He's sarcastic but also a paternal figure. I loved his relationship with Pietro and Wanda (in both AOU and Civil War).

I agree. I also loved his sense of loyalty. When he said he owed a debt in CW, I think he wasn't just talking about Wanda (for Pietro saving his life in AoU) but also Steve, for giving him a chance in Avengers after he'd been mind-controlled and done horrible things. Plus I like him being the only one on the team with a relatively normal life.
