Critical acclaim ≠ quality
Financial success ≠ quality
Popularity ≠ quality
Originality ≠ quality
Niche success ≠ quality
Crossover appeal ≠ quality

All of these things are true, in and of themselves. But when you've dismissed all of them, what's left? "I, a complete stranger on the internet, with no known qualifications or background in the arts, say this is bad. Therefore, no-one should dispute this, on pain of my almighty scorn."
That about it?

For myself, a lot of theatrical and musical professionals whom I respect have complimented Lin Manuel Miranda's work, so it'd take a bit more than some whiny kids griping about the SJWs taking over theatre for me to take any notice.
