I think what OP is trying to say (and please correct me if I'm wrong, OP) is that they are a medical student doing their clerkship/clinical rotation. And as of right now, they are undergoing the OB/GYN rotation, and are struggling to find the course interesting. In the past, OP may have used a fandom favorite (Supernatural) as a form of escapism by relating their medical experience/schooling/life (?) with the television show. But this time, they can't do that with the OB/GYN rotation because the show/particular rotation are not akin to each other (like, at all).

As I said, this is ENTIRELY speculation on my part, but that's what I came up with when reading this secret. I could be completely wrong, but I'm speaking on personal experience, too.

Pretty much; during other rotations, it was things like, "Oh, this happened to someone on the show" or "that character has these risk factors for this disorder," and so on, which was helpful in both remembering symptoms/treatments. But there is a distinct lack of pregnancy in recurring characters in the show (which is fine), and it has been a more difficult subject. Apparently the two are related (and my mnemonic device has broken down). I don't even.

Fanfic? Mpreg? Not the show itself, of course, and some fans avoid the fandom ...
