It is my favorite, but I love GoF too.

Unrelated, but I liked the Half Blood Prince movie far more than the book.

Can't agree on HBP. The movie seemed like 80 percent Teen Romance Drama, 10 percent Dumbledore Adeventures and 10 percent Halfblood Prince, the one who was its namesake.

But I don't think I've watched since it was in theaters, so maybe I'm misremembering.

My experience with the HBP movie is pretty massively shaped by the fact that when I saw it, I happened to be sitting next to a bunch of stoned teens who were cracking up the entire time. So I sort of can't take it seriously. Even though there are parts of it I really like, I just can't take it seriously.

I agree. I find the movie more entertaining than the book.

The later books definitely needed a better editor but knowing that they would sell like crazy no matter what, I don't think anyone wanted to say no. Considering that the fans gobble up every little tidbit over every book and even still, I'm not surprised that no one told her no.

Yeah, GoF is my fav too. I actually like it better than PoA, despite the massive plot hole.

The HBP movie was visually very stylish. It's not my #1, but I respect that it was trying something different.

What plot hole? :O

(Anonymous) 2016-06-14 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
That Barty Crouch Jr. needed to wait (for whatever reason) until the end of the Triwizard Tournament to transport Harry to Voldemort.

tbh, I don't think that's a plot hole?

If he waits until the end, he can either (1) make it look like Harry died in a situation where there weren't many people around, unlike the first two where (a) there were other people and (b) there were other beings, or (2) have Voldemort come back as Harry Potter the Victorious Hero via polyjuice, with the upswell of popular support due to his heroics.
