Welll, Mac has been historically good for some graphic programs and things like video editing. so, if that's specifically what they need a computer for...I sort of get it.

Historically yes, but Adobe (the only company that makes industry standard software I know of for graphics) makes versions for both PC and Mac.

I'm a web design student and we use PCs in all of our classes.

For the game and 3D computer animation industry, PCs are also standard.

As multiple people have pointed out earlier. Not standard everywhere, mr fake designer who only uses photoshop.

I aware, I've used Adobe. Though a PC is still more likely to crash wile using it (and this is exactly what you don't want if you've been rendering a video for 4 hours).

I've never had this problem ever. Yes, there is a small chance, but in my experience both using and rendering video for several hours, I have never had a PC crash on me (and I did this at school where if the computer crashed, all my rendering would be lost because the computers would reset with a restart). As long you don't touch the computer while it's rendering, it will probably be fine.

I've known this to happen (mostly to friends) and it was always a huge drama.

[personal profile] sachiko_san 2016-06-13 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Well it does help to set up small render farms or render in small batches so you don't lose everything.

You've never worked on a real big project, have you?

Hell I have an easier time finding a PC copy of Photoshop to warez than I do a Mac. Finding one for a Mac user friend was a nightmare, and then she fucked up installing it because she didn't read the instructions.
