I'm tired of seeing Republicans memorialize this without mentioning who the victims are.

Now I totally get that someone can oppose things like gay marriage and not want people straight-up murdered or otherwise hurt. The fact that people are linking those two things directly is kind of ridiculous; the vast majority of the GOP isn't that bad. Hell, younger Republicans don't even tend to be against marriage in the first place. But to have all these memorials without mentioning that the victims were gay and killed for being gay? Are you that fucking ridiculously scared of the fringe of your base? What kind of coward do you have to be?

The only major GOP figure I've seen talking about the victims being gay is Trump, and he's only doing that as a wedge against Muslims. Ugh.

Yeah, their roundabout way of addressing this is really pissing me off. Especially when you have dipshits like Ted Cruz going on about how, if Democrats really want to prove they're true supporters of LGBT people and rights, they should condemn this Islamic extremist attitude towards gay people. It's like he's hoping we won't remember that he's supported a lot of anti-LGBT legislation, or that the GOP hasn't mocked, insulted, and tried to strip the rights of LGBT people over the years.

Wonderful, GOP, you guys don't think gay people should be murdered. Your policies still fuel a lot of the anti-LGBT sentiment that is out there in this country and still involve treating people like shit and denying (or attempting to deny) them civil rights simply because of who they are and who they love, so it's not like you're all that much better. Quit patting yourselves on the back for expressing the bare minimum of human decency in not thinking gay people should be murdered.

I'm tired of seeing Dems talk about this without mentioning who the perpetrator was.
