I think it's clear she wa the victim of a man who held fucked up ideas about how you can treat women. I don't blame her one bit for being too afraid of him to do anything.

I do and I hope the police do. She drive him to case the club.

... she should've stood up to her abusive, armed husband, because that would've been a good outcome for her and the people at the nightclub? I hope the police will have an ounce of common sense and understand why she decided not to try and fight him.

She wasn't in active danger at the time. She wasn't anywhere near him.

I think you're failing to grasp the psychology behind abusive relationships. That's why they're so fucked up. The abuser gets inside your head until you don't even recognize freedom anymore, it's not a concept that's real to you. Chances are you did try to get away or get help or stand up to him in the beginning, and guess what? You paid for it, big time. Over and over until all the fight's been beaten out of you.

On the offchance you're not trolling, please have some compassion and realize that abused women aren't stupid or evil for not standing up to their abusers.

nayrt but you need to stop infantilizing abused women. They are not children. They are still adults, and still responsible for their own actions (or lack of action). Yes, it may have been hard for this woman to call the cops. Yes, it was still the right thing for her to do, and yes, it is WRONG that she didn't, and she could very well be held legally accountable for that.

Ah. A troll, then. I suspected as much, but thanks for the confirmation.

Okay if that makes you feel better about your shitty opinion, I guess.

They disagreed with them. Apparently, that's a good enough reason to start yelling "troll!"

mte. that didn't sound even the least bit trolly. Presenting a civil and well-explained counter-argument is not trolling. People need to stop misusing that word.

jesus christ, I still blame her. Stop it. She's still an adult and responsible for her own actions (or lack of actions). If she really did know that he was going to do this and did nothing, I hope she is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

She won't be sipping tea in prison as an accessory to murder! And you know they'll convict her if she is charged.

You're right, I'm fucking outraged that 50 LGBT people are dead and many more seriously injured because of a fucking homophobe that could've been stopped, had this woman done the right thing.
