Not this woman as far as we know. And abuse doesn't excuse crimes.

I'm not saying it excuses it, I'm saying that the choice may not have felt as clear cut to her as it does to someone who isn't trapped in a relationship with a heavily armed, homicidal person who is full of hate and a willingness to murder people who disagree with him.

He beat his ex-wife. I think the odds are good he didn't suddenly get cured of wife-beating with the next woman.

It doesn't excuse her but imo it would put her more as an accessory than a co-conspirator.

And as the person above me said: He beat his ex-wife so I see no reason to believe he wouldn't beat this one. Not to mention anyone evil enough to shoot 50 people I doubt would have any problem making it 51.

Exactly. Anyone who wonders why a woman in an abusive relationship might be too terrified to stop her crazy husband who also has a gun is someone who isn't really understanding the big picture.

technically he shot 49. (well, killed 49, shot another 53 beyond that)

but yeah, I agree - he was a physical abuser and was clearly still fucked up because he was willing to shoot people so I would be surprised actually if he weren't still abusive to his second wife.
