That was a bullshit judgement from the court. I'm sure that the Gawker witness made an ass of himself, and that it was salacious, but the article was still well within the bounds of protection of the first amendment. It was pure kick-a-liberal theatrics, and that a billionaire is bankrolling as many lawsuits as he can find in order to shut down a news outlet (even a gossip one) just makes it even worse. That is some scary shit happening right there. It was a bad precedent.

Yeah, dude was actually funding a suit against commenters on Jezebel for commenting on an article. His latest target for a suit appears to be a Gawker post speculating that Donald Trump's hair is fake (no proven financial link yet, but it's the same lawyer as the Hogan case.)
