(Anonymous) 2016-06-15 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)Listen, I have zero problem with bad guys being violent toward female characters. Especially in superhero movies - I prefer that women get their asses kicked and see as much action (both giving and taking) as the male characters. The fact that this was presumably a scene in the movie wasn't the issue.
It's the fact that this scene is being used to PROMOTE the film on a BILLBOARD. It's a still shot of a woman being strangled. I wouldn't be cool with it even if it were a guy. Billboards do not have to be violent to advertise action movies.
